Stinger Protocol

A vibrant golden cocktail that mirrors the film's duality. It starts with a smooth, sophisticated base of blended Scotch, honey, and spicy ginger, representing the protagonist's quiet life. It's then topped with a smoky, intense float of peated Islay Scotch, unleashing the sudden and visceral vengeance of the Beekeeper.

Instructions

  1. 1

First, prepare the Honey-Ginger Syrup if you don't have it: Gently heat equal parts honey and water with a few slices of fresh ginger until the honey dissolves. Let it steep for 15 minutes, then cool and strain out the ginger.

  2. 2

Add the blended Scotch, honey-ginger syrup, and fresh lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

  3. 3

Shake vigorously for about 12-15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well-chilled.

  4. 4

Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass filled with a large ice cube.

  5. 5

Gently pour the peated Islay Scotch over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top of the drink.

  6. 6

Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel to represent the vibrant, frantic action.

The Inspiration

Why this drink

This cocktail is inspired by Adam Clay's two-sided nature. The main drink is a well-balanced and pleasant blend of honey, spice, and citrus—his orderly life as a beekeeper. The potent, smoky float of Islay Scotch that sits atop the drink represents the sudden activation of his deadly 'Beekeeper' persona, a shocking and powerful layer that changes the entire experience, mirroring his relentless campaign for vengeance.
